Byzantine

The style of the Byzantine empire, which flourished between the 4th and 15th Century, its capital being Constantinople (originally Byzantium, now Istanbul). The Byzantine style blends Roman and eastern influences and its most typical form is the large domed church, lavishly decorated with mosaics.
