Gothic

A style employed in western Europe from the 12th to the 16th century. It is characterised by the use of pointed arches and ribbed vaults, piers, and buttresses in the support of its stone construction. The style is best exemplified by the cathedrals of Amiens and Bourges and the Notre Dame in Paris.
